Terms of Service

These Terms govern your access to and use of engineer9 (the "Service"). By installing or using the Service, you agree to them. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you confirm you have authority to bind it.
The service
engineer9 is an AI teammate that runs in your Slack workspace. It learns from the channels you authorize, builds a memory of your team, answers questions, and can act with your approval. The Service is offered as a managed, hosted product.
Accounts and installation
Installing engineer9 requires a Slack workspace and the appropriate Slack permissions. You are responsible for the actions taken in your workspace, for choosing which channels engineer9 may access, and for managing who can approve its actions.
Your data and content
You retain all rights to your team's content and the knowledge engineer9 builds from it. We do not claim ownership of it, and we do not train models on it. Our handling of your data is described in our Privacy Policy.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- break the law or infringe others' rights;
- attempt to access another customer's data or disrupt the Service;
- reverse engineer or resell the Service except as permitted; or
- use it to generate harmful, abusive, or deceptive content.
Plans and fees
engineer9 offers a free tier for small teams and paid plans for larger ones. Pricing and limits are shown at sign-up and on our pricing page, and may change with notice. Paid fees are billed as described at purchase.
Third-party services
The Service depends on Slack and on Anthropic for model inference. Your use is also subject to those providers' terms. If you bring your own model key, your use of that provider is governed by your own agreement with them.
Service status and disclaimers
engineer9 is offered on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Parts of the product are early and evolving. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. engineer9 can make mistakes; review its output before relying on it for important decisions.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, engineer9 will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability arising from the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling engineer9 from your Slack workspace. We may suspend or terminate access if these Terms are violated or if required to protect the Service or other customers.
Changes
We may update these Terms as the product evolves. We will revise the date above and, for material changes, notify you through the product or by email. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
