Installation
engineer9 installs as a Slack app from engineer9.ai. There’s nothing to download or host. Sign up, authorize it for your workspace, and choose what it can see.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- A Slack workspace where you can install apps. You’ll need to be a workspace admin, or have an admin approve the install.
- That’s it. engineer9 runs as a managed service, so there’s no infrastructure and no API keys to manage.
1. Sign up
Section titled “1. Sign up”Go to engineer9.ai and sign up. It’s free for teams up to 50 members, with no credit card required.
2. Add engineer9 to Slack
Section titled “2. Add engineer9 to Slack”Click Add to Slack and authorize the app for your workspace. The install grants engineer9 only the Slack permissions it needs to read mentions, post replies, and see the channels you later add. Nothing more.
By default, engineer9 has access to no channels until you add them in the next step.
3. Choose channels
Section titled “3. Choose channels”Select which channels engineer9 should be active in, typically your project or team channels. It reads only the channels you add, and an admin can change this at any time. See Channels & access for how access works.
4. Start using it
Section titled “4. Start using it”@mention engineer9 in any channel it has access to, or DM it. Over the first few days it builds its memory and a roster of who owns what.
