Troubleshooting
Most “engineer9 isn’t responding” cases come down to one of four things. Work through them in order.
Is the channel added?
Section titled “Is the channel added?”engineer9 only listens in channels you’ve added on the Channels page in your dashboard. If the channel isn’t on the list, engineer9 can’t see anything in it — by design. See Channels & access.
Private channel? Check membership
Section titled “Private channel? Check membership”For private channels, being on the Channels list isn’t enough — Slack requires engineer9 to be a member of the channel. If you added a private channel and engineer9 stays silent, run this in the channel:
/invite @engineer9If the invite says it’s already in the channel, move to the next check.
Mention it
Section titled “Mention it”In channels, engineer9 responds when @mentioned — it reads context continuously but doesn’t reply to every message. Make sure your message includes @engineer9.
Still stuck?
Section titled “Still stuck?”A reinstall from engineer9.ai fixes most remaining cases: it refreshes the permissions engineer9 holds in your workspace (Slack only grants new permissions at install time). Your channels, memory, and roster are preserved across reinstalls.
If that doesn’t do it, contact us at [email protected] with your workspace name and roughly when the problem started.
